Tense Names in Spanish
On El Conjugador, I chose to present the tenses with their French equivalents to facilitate comparison between French and Spanish. However, you have the option to display the tense names in Spanish. And there, I have provided two options: one for the tense names recognized by the Real Academia Española and another recognized by the South American terminology of Andrés Bello.
Concretely, what changes between the two? In Andrés Bello's system, the name is based on its reference on the timeline: present, past, future... For compound tenses, we simply add "ante" before the tense name to represent it on the timeline. In the Real Academia Española system, we have a more classical view of tense names derived from Latin.
